Ludlow Hereford Cathedral Royal Pomona Cider Cask Whisky First Edition Crafted in the heart of the Welsh Marches. This First Edition release from Ludlow Distillery celebrates both regional heritage and exceptional whisky making. Quadruple distilled from the finest English and Scottish malted barley. Gently peat-smoked and matured in second-fill ex-bourbon and ex-Scotch casks. Then receiving its distinctive finish in a rum cask previously used to mature Tom Oliver’s renowned Royal Pomona Cider. • Ludlow Royal Pomona Cider Cask Whisky has aromas of baked apple, honeyed malt, and gentle spice. Offering a warm, orchard-driven character. • Medium-bodied palate showing rum-soaked sultana, vanilla, dried citrus peel, and soft oak. • Clean, spiced finish with lingering citrus, wild apple, and warming, mellow depth. Pairs wonderfully with apple crumble, pork belly with caramelised apple, or soft, creamy cheeses that complement its orchard-led sweetness and warm spice. This First Edition release commemorates 140 years since the publication of The Herefordshire Pomona (1885), a seminal 19th-century record of the county’s apples and pears. Compiled by Dr Henry Graves Bull in Hereford Cathedral Close, with detailed illustrations by his daughter Edith. The Pomona remains a prized treasure of the Cathedral Library. Its pages document the very apple varieties Foxwhelp and Dabinett, that inspired Royal Cider.
