Employing pot stills heated through indirect steam, these whiskies epitomise a distinctive fruit-forward profile and exhibit a refined, delicate texture. • Intensely rich with concentrated iris notes, evolving into malted barley, exotic fruit, liquorice, and camphor aromas. Gradual hints of burnt wood and ash follow, succeeded by white flowers and beeswax notes • The palate is bold and vibrant. Central to the palate is rich malt barley, with herbal, liquorice, spiced (ginger, cinnamon), and chocolate accents. Remarkably refined, the mid-palate exudes energy • Concluding gracefully, notes of fresh tobacco leaves and coconut merge Masataka Taketsuru, the visionary behind Nikka, opted for a scenic valley in the Miyagi prefecture to establish his second distillery. Commencing operations in 1969, Taketsuru intentionally crafted a distinct dichotomy between his two creations: Miyagikyo and Yoichi. Masataka Taketsuru intentionally positioned these distilleries side by side, purposefully aligning them with distinct natural environments and production methods. This no age statement bottling of Nikka Miyagikyo single malt whisky contains whiskies of at least 10 years old.
